Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist
Hugo is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist. He is registered with the Canadian Alliance of Alternative Medicine (ACMA) and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). He is also a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Provider, having completed that course at McMaster University.
As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Hugo believes the body has an innate ability to heal itself and auto-regulate in the face of illness. Osteopathy assists the body to activate this mechanism when compromised by injury or other factors.
Combining his osteopathic techniques with soft tissue expertise, Hugo’s approach is integrative. He incorporates joint mobilization, active stretching, myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, acupuncture, Swedish Massage, and exercise prescription.
Hugo has a wide range of clinical experience including with pre and postnatal women, the elderly, and active populations of various levels from weekend warriors to professional athletes.
As a former sponsored elite runner himself, Hugo understands performance goals. He has competed in over 20 marathons including Boston, Chicago, New York City, and California, as well as international Ironman events.
